SmartShield™ is a revolutionary, multi-cavity, EMI shielding product for wireless communications devices. The technology consists of a lightweight, stainless steel or nickel silver board level shield that can be stamped and formed to virtually any design.

SmartShield™ uses an innovative attachment mechanism using zero ohm solder slugs as individual mechanical snap features which hold the shield down firmly. This results in a relatively narrow ground trace, which permits multi-cavity solutions.

Zero ohm resistors are installed directly to ground pads on the PCB directly by using the standard SMT process. The slugs or zero ohm resistors come on a standard tape and reel which fits directly onto an SMT machine.

SmartShield™ is protected by UK PCT and worldwide patents.
